Are you asking if you can put a 87-93 dash in a 86? Yes its possiable and its pretty much a direct swap

some re-wire and bolt hole mis-match but you can do the swap.

They are two different dashes, they can be swapped but it will take some work

lol, no it's not a direct swap, it'll take a bit of work.

the 86 dashes look much meaner anyhow in the 86 and older cars. Keep it 86.

I bit biased eh? LOL

They fit but there is work. I like the look of the newer dash but in a 4eyed car the spartan look of the older dash is much better.

lol, biased? YES

If you look at the fox mustang, it's a VERY angular car. NO soft lines. This is by design. This is why the 4 eyed front end and angular 79-86 dashes look good on the cars (when it's all clean and restored)

they flow with the body lines, and match the car very well.

This is why I don't care for the 87+ cars as much ( still love them, have owned them, and will own more, I just don't like them as much)

the 87+ dash and front end look tacked on. They look like a cheap attempt by a manufactorer to upgrade an aging body style and keep it alive for a few more years. This was exactly what happened. As a result, the rounded front end and soft dash lines of the 87+ cars look completely and utterly out of place compared to the body lines of the car. Again, I don't think they look horrible, it's just that they don't flow well with the overall design of the car.

The full size bronco's are much the same. the 80's front ends matched well, then they started putting these rounded front ends on them. While it looked alright, the 80's front ends matched a little better.

take the 99 mustang for example. I think this is an example of a makeover gone extremely well. The 94-98 mustangs are very curvy. Then in 99 they updated the car. They went over the entire car though. they didn't just tack on a $99 bumper cover and call it a day, they redesigned basically the entire car to flow well. Hence the edge name. Looks good, and no dollar store bumper cover and dash makeover.

The '99 was nice when it came out, but i didn't like it. It took a little remodeling in '01 for me to finally like it enough to go buy one.

03-04 Mustang interior with interior upgrade package is the best looking Mustang interior so far IMHO. I would love to snag one and swap it into my 5.0 one day
