Black wire with purpleish stripe. Along stearing column. Just hanging out not connected to anything. My car wiring is a mess.

Sorry, it's a 1990 GT vert. I have been cruising around very useful.com the only wire I see with the similar colors is the fuel pump. But fuel pump is fully functional so I do not think that is it. No missing wires from the ignition switch harness either.

Based on this, if I am decoding it correctly, it is a T5 original car.

Fuel pump is pink wire with black tracer. That wire is black with pink tracer. Searching my 1990 wiring diagrams and nothing yet

Key in ignition warning chime. Goes from ignition cylinder to warning chime box
