1993 cobra oil pan

Hi guys I was looking at a 1993 cobra with 5K miles today. The oil pan had pink paint or something all over it right near the sending unit???? What could that pink paint be?? factory? Thanks!

Got any pics? There shouldn't be any paint except for black or grey on the oil pan.

No pics. The pan is grey but has a huge 5 inch radius circle of pink paint on it? No idea why? Thought maybe it was something the factory did?

It may very well be an assembly line marking.

Assembly line marking i would guess....or someone shot a paintball at your oil pan

If I remember correct the last Grey Oil Pans should have been 1992, in 1993 they were Black, as far as the paint mark I would guess an assembly line marking.

Original pan is on my car too. Oil pan sumps both have large area's of yellow paint. Factory I presume.
