Thanks for the complements. I am going to have the original chrome cobra rims refinished in a black chrome, if it isn’t too expensive. I agree and think the original rims belong on a cobra.

Nothing too hardcore. it’s a stock block with bored .040 over, with a B cam.
The heads are AFR 185’S
Crane roller rockers.
Comp cams pushrods
Gt40 tubular intake with spacer
Bbk 75mm throttle body
42 lbs injectors with calibrated mass air.
Vortech SC with high output kit , should be good for about 10-12 pounds of boost.
I know I need a better block it will have to do for now. If this one goes south I will go with a boss

used POR15 paint, the stuff is unbeatable , but only comes in a very few colors. I have only found black, silver, and gray. I wanted silver so I could catch any fluid leaks early. I had to paint the block because it was a combination or about three different colors. RUST, SILVER, and BLue

BLack would have been nice also

The original cobra rims are already past the point of no return. The clear is pealing off and they look bad. I don’t like chrome rims because I feel “bling rims don’t look too good on a sports car. I am going to go with black chrome because it is black and shiny , best of both worlds.

And this is my favorite post. -------- Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but not everyone should share all of the time. I appreciate constructive criticism as much as the next guy, and believe that it can be just that , constructive. However to tell someone that is a fellow enthusiast that their labor of love “looks horrible” is a lot harsh.
I started with a neglected cobra, and am in the process of turning it into something I can be proud of. I did not slap down a couple of grand and hand the project over to some professional. I did everything myself with no, (that means none) prior experience.
This is a progress thread, indicating that I am far from done. If you see some horrible overspray on some wires keep in mind that all will be rewrapped and or under the engine, so that you will not be able to see it.
As far as your other observations .
The MSD is placed where it is to be practical, it has an adjustment knob on the bottom of it to adjust the timing for my boost controller. I had my old MSD mounted inside the fender and learned from trial and error that it was not the best place for it.
As far as “skipping the biggest hole” when smoothing the engine bay. It was not an oversight or a lack of interest I left the intake hole because there is going to be a big fat supercharger intake pipe sticking in that hole.
I do appreciate everyone’s input and I enjoy reading everyone’s experiences with their stangs. Please keep up the posting as will I , even if some out there have absolutely no tact when sharing their opinions
