1995 5.0 - Performance Mod Help

I'm looking for some advice as to what performance mods I should do to my 95 mustang GT 5.0.

My thoughts are:

- Exhaust (I live in Florida so I can go with the off-road.)
- Headers (long)
- Rear (currently blew mine out)
- Cam (unsure) need

I am completely new to the Mustang world and extremely undereducated so all the advice would be very helpful. Currently in the market looking around some junk yards for new rear end maybe rebuild mine. I also remember reading somewhere that the 95 have some issues when you add aftermarket parts tend to idle rough or not start, is that true? I'm not looking for unrealistic gains! Hoping to get somewhere around 300/350. I look forward to hearing from everyone and joining the community.

I recommend you get all your performance parts from American Muscle, they're great. I recommend a cold air intake that doesnt require a tune, long headers, Pypes or Magnaflow exhaust if you want it nice and moderate to loud sound. Get racing gears, new clutch possibly. Turbo and supercharging are both expensive.

I would hazard to guess that I could supercharge a car for less than you could do all of that.

Particularly in the land of Windsor.

Not to mention that the mods you listed are all worth about zero horse power with the stock heads, intake, and throttle body.

The gears are a good idea though.

What are your plans for the car? Is this a car you plan to keep and potentially be buried in or is going to be fun for a couple years until it's not?

If it's just a fun car, I'd supercharge the thing, upgrade the fuel system, tune it, and call it a day.

If you're keeping it, heads/cam/intake (HCI), fuel, gears, and start chipping away at supporting and suspension mods. Decide on power adder later after you see what can be done with an engine that can breathe.

It's not a Fox but nobody's perfect.

I was under the assumption that he didn't have enough money to afford anything tune-able, and we all know tunes give you great additions, especially your horsepower. By all means he should super or turbocharge that baby if he has the money to.

The mods you mentioned are worth nothing on a stock headed HO motor, this is not our opinion this is fact. So we try to keep our advice in line with what the OP is looking for. A supercharger is the easiest way to add power and maintain stock driving manners. The sn95 ECU does not play well with mods and a tune will need to be done anyway if he puts any amount of cam in the car.
