hi everyone, new to the forum and ownership of a mustang engine.
here is my dilemma, I acquire an engine for a project I'm currently working on (1972 VW super beetle) and i am installing a 2.3L fuel injection turbo engine.
The ENGINE BLOCK has the stampings: RF-E3ZE-6015 that makes it an 1983.
The ENGINE HEAD has the stampings: RF-E5ZE-EA and that makes it an 1985.
The engine came of a 1991... but they cant tell me what... it was a junk yard purchase 7 years ago.
See attached pics. i am rebuilding it with a friend of mine, but i am having a hard time identifying the Gaskets parts i need and determining if it is a GT turbo or SVO.
i see some gaskets are compatible 1983-1985 according to (don't kill me) the AutoZone website, but that is probably because I AM selecting those options (GT turbo or SVO)
here is a picture of the engine/head and the cover that came with it. I've already painted and installed those parts so far.
can anybody help identify this thing?
