Any thoughts on how to get the focus fuel pump setup to work in a 1998, keep in mind this is a year all by itself. Also any thoughts otherwise for fuel problems. When you have alot of power and its starving for fuel, what are youre suggestions???

thanks

Well the system is return style so there arent many options. I was just wondering if anyone used the focus pump setup in their 98 because its such an odd year. I also know about the 190 walbro option. I know someone with the focus system in his 98 and he put them directly to a 12v source and now says he having a/f problems while on the dyno. So was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

thanks

it my understanding the SVT Focus fuel pump WILL NOT work on 1998 Mustang's now I have sold plenty of the '03/04 Avaitor fuel pumps for the 1998's Mustang wth NO problems

Randy, this guy already has the focus in it and it runs, but the a/f ratios are going crazy. I told him it was prob. fuel related. So youre saying the aviator pump will work without a problem. Is there need to modify the basket to get it to fit, or not. Thanks again.

yeah thats prob right as the Focus pump is not a return style pump and its probley to much pump for a return style system and is flooding the engine.

now as far as the Avaitor pump, I can't say for sure as I've never done an install of one on a 1998 but many have. 1 is Tim(1badazzgt) over on the Corral, contact him on the 4.6 SOHC page as he is one of the moderators.
