1998 Rear axle in 2000 V6

I have a line on a 1998 GT rear axle with 3.27 posi and i have searched, but have yet you get a definitive answer. will this work? or is the axle too short. thanks

I believe it would work but the axle is shorter so if you wanted to keep the same wheel base you would need to use spacers, I dont know if the wheels would fit without spacers.

From what I have read you are better off if you can find a 99-04 axle.
