I've been searching and I can only find cold air intake kits for the 5.0L. Anybody know of any kits that will work with my 1989 2.3L? Thanks

There isn't one made, you gotta make your own. I have instructions on how to do it in the tech articles thread.

As an alternative you could pick up a couple mandrel bends and some connectors and build your own intake that way. I did that on my turbo coupe. It's a lot easier and cheaper to build one out of PVC pipe though.

actually its even easier than that now if you dont mind spending a couple extra bucks and having chrome plastic. Autostupid (autozone) now sells what you need to make a cold air intake. If you want to be cheap about it you can just gut the air silencer (big plastic muffler with ford logo) then buy a filter with the same O.D as the end of the muffler and put it on.
If you want to do it better then follow the suggestions above. But you will notice a deeper sound and a slight improvement in power (barely)

91-93 cai

here everything you need.

a cold air kit for a 96-98 civic, (like this one) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97-98-Honda-Civic-EX-HX-Cold-Air-Intake-Kit-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38634QQihZ019QQitemZ290031568854QQrdZ1
a mass air/filter adapter like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-04-Ford-Mustang-3-8-V6-Air-Intake-Filter-MAF-Adapter_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33710QQihZ004QQitemZ140031221378QQrdZ1

and some couplers.

first you connect the longest tube to the t/b with extra coupler, its a direct fit.

next you take the smaller pipe and cut it in half.

after that use a coupler to connect the mass air to the longest pipe, and use some nuts and bolts to connect the adapter to ths mass air unit.

then you use anther coupler to connect smaller tube to mass air and route the pipe out of the larger hole in the fender.

mount you air filter to the pipe inside of the fender.

next there is a hole in the larger pipe, drill it out a little larger and screw in you air charge sensor (black sensor on air box) the intake also has anothor small hole with a tube just plg it off some how.

make some support brackets and you done.

here are some pics installed i hve done three of these and they work great.

pre 91 cars

for pre 1991 2.3s there is a kit on ebay which i have also used with great effect.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/87-90-FORD-MUSTANG-LX-2-3L-I4-AIR-FILTER-INTAKE-88-89-R_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38634QQihZ017QQitemZ270031133965QQrdZ1

to look it up on ebay just type in 87 mustang air intake and it should bring a few up.
