2.3l cooling fan questions

ok,i cant find a good cooling fan. does anyone know the cfm rating of the oe fan? thinking about dual fans,one for cooling,the other for a/c. want to make sure they pull enough air to work properly. thanks 88 2.3l

I’ve seen 1250 cfm to the 1500 cfm range. Not a lot of data on the 2.3 fans.

The radiator for the 2.3L is basically the same size as the one for the 5.0 so you can run either a 90-95 3.8L Taurus fan or a 1995-2000 Contour fan. The Contour fans are super popular since they cover the entire radiator and the installation is pretty easy. Really good thread on the install and data hre:

I am starting this thread as a compilation of bits of information I have shared in a number of different threads with the hope that compiling it will help answer most questions new members ask. I would simply use the existing fan wires to trigger a relay (will need more amperage than the stock fan) and call it a day. This is of course as long as your fan is still turning on at the right temperature and when the AC is commanded.
