Hey all,

I've been doing a bunch of searches and haven't found what I'm looking for so i thought i would ask this group.

I'm looking for a pair of Stainless 2.5 Inch GT tailpipes for my '88. A few of the well known manufactures sell stainless tails but only in a cat back kit and i only need the tails.

Has anyone came across a set?

All I've run into are the aluminized pipes. Hopefully someone else can help out as I'd also like to have stainless if it's possible.

I'm going to contact Magnaflow today and see if they will sell them separately

Could be a good idea. When i was searching for my catback just to see what it was (APC brand?) it led me to Summit and i recall seeing just tail pipes.

I like that [way] better than the DIY solution I was about to suggest.

Only thing worse than a fart-can IMO, is an short "tip" straight pipe. Feels like pocket lint to me.

Get/use a pair of LX style stainless tailpipes and pick up a pair of stainless turndowns and convert the discharge end to GT style turndowns.

Most won't see them anyway.

Yeah... disappear behind something. GTs at least have skirts to hide some stuff behind.

I missed the GT part. Is there any reason you want stainless because as has been said you are not going to see them.

Not sure about these but it’s eBay so buyer beware:

Stainless Steel Dual 2.5" Exhaust Tailpipes 87-93 Mustang GT 5.0L Turn Down Tips | eBay

1987-1993 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8 (Turn Down Exit). Constructed From Quality Stainless Steel. Performance Dual 2.5" Tailpipe Kit. The system is made specifically for vehicle models listed below. Higher Quality & Much More Durable Than Aluminized Steel.

Pypes does make stainless cat backs for the GT’s so maybe call them and see if they will sell just the tailpipes.
