The front of my car with the 6cyl springs sits nicely with about an 1.25 inches of space between the tire and the bottom of the fender. But the rear has around 3.5-3.75 inches of gap. So I'm thinking about buying a 2" lowering block kit. But i have a question. The right rear quarter of my car has ben reworked, and doesnt bulge out quite as far as it should. Therefore, the tire sticks out about .5-1 inch further than it should, and it the car were to be theoretically dropped too much, the fender would hit the tire. If I go with the 2" kit, there will be 1.5-1.75 inches of a gap b/w the fender and tire. If i hit a big bump, will the car drop enough to to rub against the back tire?

What should i do? 1" kit or 2" kit? the 2" would look much better, but im scared its gonna hit.

Here are some photos as a reference. you can see the back needs to be dropped...

i'm running 2" lowering blocks and really think you'll be fine. if it does, just get a good set of shocks like KYB's and you won't rub with any bumps.

65 shelby clone...

I have a set of 1.5" lower blocks that im not going to use. I will be going through Atlanta, on my way to Dahlonega next weekend. You can have them for free. You should not have to change your Ubolts.

Let me know

You can buy them at any autoparts store. Probably about $30 for 4 of them. Sometimes the right size is not easy to find either. I know I had to go to about 4 different places to find wha I needed. I used my stock Ubolts. There was just enough extra thread on them.

Hey, I am over in Augusta and have a set of 1" aluminum lowering blocks that I will get to you. Just PM me your address.

If you use aluminum be sure to check them often, they will crack on occasions.

Nice looking car.

When installing lower blocks; How much does that affect the pinion/drive line angle?

My ride is down about 2 1/2" in rear and I use a "shim" or "wedge" to keep the angle correct. Mine came from Speedway.
