I had no idea the 5.0s had two oil drain plugs. I only removed the rear plug when I did my oil today, seemed to all come out... Is this a problem? I didn't even see the other plug, although I wasn't really looking for it.

The front will hold like 1/2 quart or maybe a bit more, so you changed like 80% of your oil. I wouldnt call that a 'problem' as long as you didnt overfill it, just remember to drain it next time.

Just using the rear is fine, if you have the car jacked up to get under it most of the oil will be in the rear sump anyways.

Thanks for the replies. The front was jacked up and I added 4.5 qts, I'll go ahead and make it 5 and make sure to drain both next time.

Even after pulling both Drain Plugs on mine it will read over the Full Line on the Dip Stick with 5 Quarts, go figure.

Some of the dipsticks were mismarked at the factory.

ACSPONY, I'd do a shorter interval on this oil (if it wasn't something expensive) personally.

Good luck.

I'll be driving the car this summer mostly on the weekends and probably won't put too many miles on before I go back to school so I'll change it before I go back.

yeah, it's fairly well-known (well, I guess not) that the factory dipsticks are not even close on our cars.

best way to tell is to mark it yourself after an oil change.

Changed my oil recently. Drained both ends of the pan, and filled with 5 qts. The oil comes up to the 2nd "L" in the word "FULL".
