2 piece spark plugs, wtf.

Only had my 06 about a month now and hear you guys talking about
the 2 piece spark plugs. Can someone school me on them. what is the
difference or atvantage between the 1 peice plug? A pic would would be
greatly apreciated.

They are not actually 2 pieces, but often become 2 after they break upon removal.

So why did ford go to these weird spark plugs......
There must be some reason other than to make it all that much more
of a pita to work on your own car. I thought the spark plug has been
perfected by now.

its due to the design of the 3v head a longer shaft to reach into the combustion chamber. usually if you change them by 50,000 miles you are ok.

Im at 40k so no rush. But I have noticed the plugs look easy to get to....
compaired to my 99 and 04.

Is anyone making an improved plug other than Champion ??
