Ugh I cant wait to get my tranny fixed ..it has an issue with grinding when going from 1st to 2nd .. (2000 GT w/ 60k miles) I dunno how but I raced another GT tonight ,it had the same body style as mine so not sure which year exactly ..But I still won by a car length even tho I grinded for a good 3 seconds before getting it into 2nd gear lol (it was the worst grinding session ive had with it so far)..talk about embarrassing! A girl in the other cars passenger seat was laughing as we slowed down.. I felt like such a newbie although it wasnt my fault
Is this a common failure with this tranny or did the person who owned it before me just not know how to drive it? Ive only had the car for 2 months..its been doing it since I bought it (it only happens when racing / attempting to shift fast). It never grinds from 3rd to 4th / 4th to 5th etc.
Good thing I bought the extended warranty.
