Alright, so yesterday I go to start my car up, and it works perfectly fine, run great, and all that jazz. Now this morning i get up to go to work and all i get is "CLICK". Now I know i didnt leave anything on (lights, stereo, etc)... So I try jumping it...and I get the same "Click"...nothing else. So my question is, what are some of the things I should be looking for to fix the problem?

Either the solenoid or the starter has a dead spot.. If you don't have longtubes you should be able to whack the starter with a block of wood and a hammer..

I know on older vehicles you used to be able to bypass the solenoid with a screwdriver, but I don't think you can do that anymore..

If you jumped the car, the battery needs to charge for a few minutes before starting. If the car starts off the jumper cables, your battery is either dead or the alternator is. If it cannot be jumped, your starter **** the bed on you.

Check the battery with a mutlimeter and tell us what the voltage is.

I have a 2000 GT also. I had a similar problem. It had been starting and running
well. One day I got home for a drive and went out later to start it and nothing.
Not even enough to roll down the power windows. Took the battery down to
the local Ford dealer and they ran a test. Told me it had 115 CCA, when it should
have 540. It was dead. Bought a new one and I was amazed at how fast
the car turned over. I was so used to the old battery that was slowly dying
and I didn't know it. I was not the original owner. It's easy to have someone
do a quick check to see if the battery is good.

Wow, now i feel like a complete idiot, but at the same time relieved. The connection to my negative battery post was not very good I guess, which is odd because I just recently cleaned and reconnected both batter posts. So basically all that needed to be done was buy a new connector, just so I can hopefully avoid the same problem down the road. Once again, thank you for all the replies and help!! Fortunately this time it was only a minor fix. :SNSign:
