I am going to swap out the clutch on my 2001 mustang, however I am unsure of the size 10.5 or 11"

If you have the t-45, then you proably have a 10.5" If you have a 3650, then you have an 11"

Unfortunately, the switch from T-45 to TR-3650 happened during the 2001 model year production run. According to one source, if your car is 6/01 or before, it's a T-45. If it's after that date, it'll be a TR-3650.

Check out this thread:

T45 trans in 2004 Mustang GT?? - Ford Mustang Forums

It gives some pics showing some visual differences between the two and info on tags you can read off.
