Will this fit on a Gt front end or do you think it requires the 03 Cobra front end first?

steeda sells a splitter for both the cobra and gt. to use the cobra splitter you would have to get a cobra bumper. i personnaly think the splitter looks better with the cobra bumper than with the gt. i will be doing the cobra bumper and spliiter as soon as i get some more power mods on to back up the looks

Yes, but since the new splitter is based on the 03 Cobra bumper, would you need the OEM 03 bumper or 2001 Cobra bumper for it to fit properly?

I really dont want to point you in the wrong direction as i just bought my gt 3 months ago and am still new to mods(performance or visual) All i can say is what i think. That said, i would imagine you would have top get an 03-04 oem cobra bumber to use that splitter. As far as i can tell from all the looking i have been doing since i got my car(i want to go all steeda also except for the roush style side exit exhaust)you have three options from steeda, they have a splitter for the 99-03 gt's(i dont like it as much)that you can just put on with your stock gt bumper,or they have 2 cobra styles one is for the cobra r look that you would need a stock oem 99-01 cobra bumper for, or the one for the 03-04 that i assume you need the 03-04 cobra bumper for.Again I dont know much as i am still learning. I am only sharing what i have learned. I am sure you have been on steedas site but i will post another link. http://www.steeda.com/store/styling.htm
about 3/4 way down you will see the 3 options i was talking about. I want the steeda 03-04 cobra splitter and i will do what i have to to get it you know?

You need the 03/04 Cobra bumper for that new splitter. Think about it, if you put that over a GT bumper you'd see it through the splitter.

I don't like how Steeda's GT and 03 Cobra versions of the R splitter cover up half the bumper instead of just attaching to the very bottom of the bumper like the real R splitter.

If I were going that route, I would go for the real thing: a 99/01 Cobra front end with the detachable R splitter. But I think it looks a bit too much, not to mention how the rest of the bodywork on the car would still be a good couple of inches higher off the ground anyway.

Very slick ride, 01MustangGT. I got a silver 01 GT, too. I just wish I had all those visuals except for the cobra R wing; I like the looks of the steeda wing.

you are rite about the cobra wing. When i first got it, i love it a lot. now the more i look at it, the more i want to remove it, and put the stock back in. However, my gf likes it and she doesn't want me to take it off.
