2005 Eleanor

by far thalon design has the best eleanor kit, Ronaele and Cervinis kit is not even close to the design of the orginal 67-68 gt500 from gone in 60 seconds. If i wanted an 2005+ Eleanor kit i would go with thalon, wonderfull kit, look at the pictures

Look at the details

I agree, but other than the mock up, most of the pics are shopped. Make a kit EXACTLY like the mock up and I would buy one. Until then its only conceptual. I believe it was a swedish art student who made the mock up (or something like that)

when u say shopped, you mean photoshop?? cause if that what your worried about, here are some show pics

Does anyone know thalon designs phone number because I would like to give them a call but on there site there is no phone number just curious to see if anyone knows where I could find or if anyone has it.

Thanks John

it's funny how this EBONCEO guy only has one post... and how his one post was to heckle the kit on my car.

I'll admit, that the thalon one looks almost identical in the front. But does everyone realize that the kit is not available, and that when it is availble there is going to be so much body work that it IMO wouldn't be worth doing.

If I wanted to do an identical ELEANOR car, I would have done it on a 67 fastback, not on a 2005.

Blow-By's and Cervinis and even ronaele's are all WAY better then that thalon kit simply b/c
A: they are available
B: they are resonably priced
C: they are easy to install

Before you know it, that $4500 body kit is going to cost over $10,000.
B/c it now has to be molded to the car, sections of the car have to be modified and cut, then you still gotta have it painted... But this is all just my opinion.

that is all I have to say about that.

I have one thing to say about the kits, I like the thalon thats my favorite if your going to build an eleanor body kit which is based off the 67 eleanor from gone in sixty seconds than build it to look like it. My problem with the other kits are very minuscal, cervinis, blow by, and ronaele all give off a little too much of the ricer appeal which isnt something I enjoy to get out of a muscle car. And the other issue is that blow bys kit doesnt use the lip spoiler from what I can see it still uses the GT spoiler which doesnt really flow with the rest of the kit. The next problem i have with the kit is the fact that they all use the same rear bumper and have the cut outs for the rear dual exhaust and expect you to use them when eleanor has side exhaust and I think that it should have a capped rear bumper with no cutouts which the Thalon Design appears to have. And then like you said the the kit needs to have a gap in the front bumper to look authentic where the fog lights are located. Im not trying to offend anyone and I think that all the kits look the very good and I was at one time very interested in the blow by kit until I realized there were a few things I wanted it didnt have. Thalon Design has a kit that looks very unique to the rest and very clean and smoothe flowing. The problem with the other three is they all look the same or very similiar. And how do you know the cost of the Thalon if its not out yet and I havent seen any pricing posted anywhere. Well anyways thats just my opinion, my theory has always been if your going to build something build it right.

you obviously haven't done any research on the kits then... b/c if you have, you would know that BBR's and Ronaele's kits are not 100% complete. They are both waiting for a totally new designed rear bumper (which illiminates the rear exhaust cut outs) (did you actually think that they would go as far as making everything but a rear bumper?) and as for the wing... it's just not pictured on my car. BBR has a 3 peice ducktail that is complete and waiting to be installed on my car.

So if you are going to preach and talk like you know all... make sure you have all the facts.

thanks and have a great night

I wasnt preaching like I know all just stating what I did know and as far the rear wing I didnt get that from your car I saw it on your friends with the red and gold it has no duck tail spoiler. And when I called Blow By they said nothing about a rear bumper all they said was that they were going to have a Urethane front bumper coming out about now, however they still do not have the front bumper down right it needs to have a gap and the front end of the eleanor car is what I like the most and I think that Thalon has that down. And I dont appreciate you coming back at me like I was thrashing your stuff I was just stating what Ive seen not in anyways trying to trash talk any of the kits I said they were all nice and that I just felt thalon has the more authentic kit and if your going to build something build it right. And speaking of doing research how do you know that there kit is going to be 4500 I havent seen that posted anywhere, where did you get that info.

Thanks John

does it really matter how many posts he has, so if he had more posts you wouldn't complain about him?

True but if you want to call it an 2005 eleanor, you should stick with the orginal looks otherwise its just another mustang GT with a body kit. and about it not being worth it thats not true, if you want something done right you have to put something extra to it in this case more money(or atleast thats what you keep on saying about the thalon). Your opinion says its not worth it, i say it worth it, everyone has his opinion. "quality not quantity"

In a way its like getting a 1967 Fastback adding foglights and changing the color to match the Eleanor, adding the strips and saying look i have an eleanor replica, avoid the color scheme and just call it a nice fastback, same with your car u can do a respectable eleanor replica, or you can add stuff to your wonderfull GT and still call it a GT not a fake eleanor look a like. What im trying to say is you have a nice car you can add a bodykit if u like it, it will probbly look nice, but its not a eleanor replica.

Plus converting an orginal mustang fastback 67-78 to an eleanor replica would require "so much body work" and "sections of the car have to be modified and cut, then you still gotta have it painted".

everyone has his own opinion, and this is just mine sorry if it sounded as negitively im not trying to offend anyone.

by the way i think Silver05GT has brought up some good points one is the one below, i kindoff agree with him

Let me let y'all in on a little secret that most of those that own classic Mustangs have known for years.

[whisper] Eleanor sucks [/whisper]

You're entitled to your opinion, and I've gotten past arguing with other people's opinions on this subject. Just know that for every fanboy that drools over your fake "copy of a clone of a clone" movie car, there are lots of learned Mustang enthusiasts that think it's a piece of crap. :)

I'm not crazy about Eleanor either. And I took lots of crap on another web site for saying that. It's too much in my opinion.
By the way, I was also critized on another thread for offering my opinion and only having posted 23 times. How does the number of times you have posted make you more believable or a better Mustang fan or expert?
I think some of us need to lighten up a bit and respect others opinions even if they disagree with ours and don't come from someone who has posted thousands of times. Posting countless times makes no one an expert.

short and sweet... if you want an exact ELEANOR go buy a 67-68 fastback... if you just want your 05 to look similar to an eleanor style with out having to change the whole car...rguardless... either way... it's personal prefference... you like that one, I like mine... that is all that matters... I just know I wouldn't go through all that work to make an 05 look that much like a late 60's fastback... remember, it is still an 05.

and thank you Kevin for the comment.

Notice I don't have many posts.

That said, the 05 mustang has the essence of a 60's mustang and is not an exact duplicate in styling. So to are the body kits of BBR, Ronaele, and Cervinis, which IMO look great. They reproduce the essence of Eleanor and are not an exact reproduction.

If you want the real thing, then buy the real thing.

My $.02.
