well i just built and priced one on line.....

with security, leather, and interior upgrade

$35615, thats with 100 A/C excise and $995 Delivery (what a crock that is!)

What realistically do you think these will go for???

mine listed at $33000 and bought for around $28500, and at the time they were selling a new '99 with 40km for $24-25000, he said they were losing money ( yeha right). I also seen the 2000 for sale in the winter of 2000 for $25000, but then they are picked over........any suggestions

thanks

BAHAHAHHA
is that American money or Canadian? I'm not familiar with exchange rates.

Is that for a GT? That's ridiculous. It sounds like a excercise in milking the situation. Skip it. It'll go down. A GT shouldn't be more than 20k for a GT in my opinion. Everything is getting stupid price wise.

F'kin 'eh!

I ordered mine September 29th, Black Clearcoat, Black leather manual GT with Interior Upgrade & Active alarm system, cost me 41K after tax (that's canadian). It was listed at 32k base price for a GT. I took delivery in the spring because there's no way I'm ruining it with a Quebec winter and I really don't see them arriving here before xmas I can't wait....

1 Canadian Dollar = 80 cent's US now. But by this time next year, 1 Canadian Dollar with be near = > than 1 US Dollar.

If you think 40 for a GT is bad, you should see what Cobra Vert's go for....Damn near 60,000K

MAYBE! could very well go the other way again. There are people IN CANADA who want the Canadian dollar low to the American dollar. The only reason why ours finally past the $.80 mark is because we raised the interest rate. Once the US elections are over, and they get a grip on their economy issues, our dollar may slip down to the mid 70's again. Personally I want it to be on par, but a lot of financial gurus say it will not likely happen.

Has anyone actually seen a 05 Mustang in Canada, other than car shows. I have a feeling I may finally see one when I get back from my cruise in late November, and it will likey be when I am in Florida, not here in Canada. (Cruising from Barcelona Spain to Florida, 17 day trans-atlantic...19 more sleeps )

Of course there are people who want it low, our economy is biased on exports. A low Canadian dollar makes our products much more alluring to American buyers. However, interest rates aren't the biggest factor surrounding a relatively high Canadian Dollar. An inflated US dollar adjusting to global currencies is the biggest factor.

Yikes. That's a bit more than I'd hoped for, but about what I expected.

I figure, my '03 was $31k and change, so for about 4k more, I get a far superior product, so that's not bad I guess.

Yeah not bad....but I'm in Canada too, and when I read that the C6 Corvette actually went DOWN in price from the C5 by $3000 I was suprised. The Convertable did go up by about $2700, but still thats not bad for 50 more HP better suspension and a pretty much totaly revised chassis. After taxes a fully loaded 2005 GT will be almost $10,000 more than when I bought my fully loaded 2000 GT. Thats a bit crazy in my opinion, the car increasing by 1/3 of it's price in 5 years. The Mustang seems to be losing the 'cheap sports car' status here. Hopefully the prices will be down a bit and you will be able to haggle more in the next year. I plan on getting a 2006 GT. So hopefully the prices will not be as stupid at that point. As long as I can buy one in the 30's range...I'll be happy.

$10000 more than a 2000 GT? Where did you get a $25000 GT in 2000? I had a 2000 before my 2003, and I believe the sticker on it was a bit over $30k.

Well...the new GT lists for $32,800 and in pricing out a pretty much fully loaded GT, just like my 2000 GT was. At the ford website it comes to roughly $40,000 before taxes.

In 2000, I bought my GT brand new, ordered it with pretty much every option...leather, upgraded wheels, upgraded Mach 460 stereo, traction control, Auto. Everything accept body-side mouldings and power drivers seat. When all was said and done, out the door, taxes and everything I paid $33,400.00 for the car.

Now according to the Ford website, a 2005 GT loaded up pretty much the same as my 2000, with all of the above options, it comes to $39,600 before tax. Adding tax (15% of GST and PST) the car would now be $45,550 according to the site. Now it is usually a fact that dealers sell for cheaper than what is listed on the Ford website. So lets say a dealer has it for $3500 cheaper than is listed on Ford.ca. Well the car is still $42,050. which is almost $9,000 more than my 2000 GT. Even knight_rider69 said his was going to be around 41k and thats in Quebec and with a discount. I think Ontario sales tax might be higher.

Thats the numbers I'm using for comparison mattdee1.
