Sorry, didn't mean to sound pissed, but I still don't see it. The rooflines are different, the RX hood is much flatter, the distance from the edges of the doors to the fender openings are quite different, the front ends are completely different. The only resemblance I see is that they both have 5 spoke wheels.

The GTO does not look like a sunfire.

There are some similarities between the mustang and the RX8 in terms of general proportions, but I wouldn't mistake one for the other, even from a distance. As I said before, this is not a rare sporty 2+2 profile. There is probably just as much similarity between the new stang and a 3 series BMW.

Pardon my ignorance. But what is a 2000 DTS? As far as the RX-8 resembling an 05 stang. I don't see it, but hey if you do. More power to you.

2000 DTS = Cadillac Deville

The RX-8 and Stang both have pretty pronounced fenderwells, door handles and wheels are also similar, and that's about it.

I would suggest that in the future you footnote your use of the word "sick", such that we may be able to properly determine whether you mean:

1. Yo, dawg, that new Mustang is SICK yo!!

or....

2. The new Mustang is sick....as in awful, as in sick/puke/

It would help your communications skills enormously, as not everybody here is down with pimp-onics.

Flexia...it's a fluke I found your posts here on a message board, as we've met, if I have the right member here - whom works on a certain man's extra special car collection. I sent you a private e-message via this site explaining...please pick up. I also have a Jag...but it's the ONLY reason I ever got a driver's license...so I've never confused it with ANY other car. ; ) Best to you...no more public notes...just the private one & a promise to refresh your memory as to whom I am. Best to you, my Dear, truly.

There is no more similarity between the RX- (sic) Ate and the '05 Ford, than between Dolly Parton and Don Knotts.

To me the Mazda looks like a much longer car that was struck from behind by an Explorer, and simultaneously propelled into a van full of overweight tourists. If bizarre was a design goal, then they were entirely successful.

It, imho, is more of an aesthetic failure than the unfortunate Thunderbird.

The Rx-8 is a much more "delicate" design than the new stang...

Handling is exceptional with the Rx-8 (I drove it)..

The new Mustang looks cheap. Period.

Those ugly head lights, simple hood, plastic side mirrors, interior "updated" ?.... it's good only for nostalgic people...

We're leaving in 2004.. I want a car that IS from the 21th century..
If i want an antique I'm gonna buy the real thing.. it will do like the TBird..
You know where I see a lot of TBirds ?? AT the dealer.. not on the streets...

Be happy Ford... you lost my as a client.

Ho0ked on f0niks werkd fur u.

Anyway the 2005 is not cheap, the round headlights? how is that cheap? If anything its a good design by the engineering team. This car also has the new quiet steel that ford has been using, and the much better interior... i dont know what you see cheap about this car...

So go buy a mazda and stop trolling around on the 05 board. If you don't like it. Why are you still here. Not that you respond to anyone. You think that because you don't like it. That it's going to fail? You're not that important.
The handling may be exceptional on the mazda. But you cannot compare it to the 05 mustang. Because FACT is you have not driven the 05.

So the 05 looks cheap to you. To me it looks fine. period

Ugly headlights? So what are goodlooking headlights. They're round who cares. They are not going to make them into BMW headlights. Simple hood? Guess you haven't heard of the multibillion dollar industry known as aftermarket. Plastic side mirrors? Um until you get into higher dollar cars. I'm pretty sure EVERY car maker is making side mirrors out of plastic.

Leaving in 2004? Where are you going? Not that it matters. You want a car from the 21th? century. Is that supposed to be 20th or 21st? Last I checked it was a retro design not something built in 1999. Sure it looks like the older cars. But it is FROM the 21st century. I don't see a lot of thunderbirds at dealerships (Of course I likely don't live near you). Yes every dealer has 1 or 2. But I thought they were slightly more limited in production than the mustang.
