Saw some mention of this on Brad's site--that new federal safety standards will make it impossible to keep the same style of steering wheel we've seen on the 05s. Is this true? Can anyone elaborate on this?

Besies, Ford would not be so shortsighted in a products development and production. It would cost them too much to design and produce the wheel for only one year. I am sure they are well aware of upcoming legislature and always, when possible, plan around it.

so umm...

What about ALL the new BMW's with the small center airbag?

I guess ford has to change it but BMW cant?

Theres so many different vehicles on the market with a similar steering wheel system, it isnt even funny.
