hi, my name is Bob I live in Fresno, ca. My daughter has a 2006 V6 mustang. she wants to buy new Bullitt style wheels. she is thinking 18x9 with 245.45.18 tires. I am thinking she should go 235.55.17 on 17 wheels. any thoughts or advice? I am not a car guy so I really need some advice here I dont know who to turn to?......any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and all the best,Bob

I run 235.55.17 on bullit wheels; love em over the stock ones. Much less tire roll and better grip. :)

I couldn't comment on what the performance differences would be between the two you're looking at, but I can't imagine it being too big of a deal given it's a v6.

I bought a set of 18 in staggered bullit style wheels from American Muscle. !8x10 in the rears and 18x9 in fronts 245/55 and 255/55 respectively. it sets the car off nice.

18x9 is better than 17's, for a couple of reasons:

0) You need less sidewall to fill the wheel well

1) A wider track means better grip and handling.

2) You can put bigger brakes (from a GT) on the front of the car.

I have 18x9 AM wheels on mine with 255/45 zr18 Michelin Pilot Sports.
