The Blue Ridge Mustang Club of Asheville (NC) is proud to announce that we will be hosting our 4th Annual Mustangs for Hospice Pony Run & Mustang Show on Saturday & Sunday, September 26th and 27th, 2009. From the days of our first Pony Run in 2006 with 125 Mustangs, we have grown to be one of the premier regional/national Mustang events in the country now averaging over 300 Mustangs each of the past two years. This year, we will host our FIRST EVER 2 day event with Saturday's Mustang show consisting of modified MCA judging of the Mustangs (limited to 200 cars), live music, DJ's, raffle tables, food and drink vendors, 2010 Ford vehicle display, a 50/50, merchandise vendors, a popular choice vote on club members Mustangs and more. On Sunday the 27th, our world famous Pony Run will take place on the Blue Ridge Parkway followed by an awards ceremony after the run. The last two years the Pony Run consisted of a 70 mile round trip run through the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Pisgah National Forest. Imagine the sound of 300 plus Mustangs as they pass through 8 tunnels and 70 miles of some of the most scenic roads in the country and you will then have an idea as to why this has become one of the top rated Mustang events in the country!

This year, we are happy to announce the location of the Pony Run and Mustang Show has returned to the Biltmore Square Mall. With shopping, food, movie theatres and indoor bathrooms (yes, NO port-a-johns this year!) we will provide participants with a clean, self contained, paved show site for up to 400 cars.
As before, we will have very special rates at local hotels for those of you who wish to make Asheville a weekend getaway during the early fall season and join us at this unique and fun event.

There will be two forms of entry fees this year. One will cover you for both days (either car display only and Pony Run or car display with judging and Pony Run).
If you wish to be in the Pony Run only, registration for that will be on Sunday beginning at 8am.

Saturdays show will begin with registration from 7:30am-10am with judging to begin at 12 noon. Show will end on Saturday at or about 5:30pm.

Following in the tradition of hosting one of the largest and most unique all Mustang shows in the country, the Blue Ridge Mustang Club of Asheville is proud to announce that it will host a benefit concert for Hospice on the evening of the 26th of September. The performer is Bill Wharton aka 'The Sauce Boss'. Bill is a nationally known Blue/Cajun guitarist and offers a most unique concept to his shows. During the show, Bill will cook his very own special recipe of Louisiana gumbo! And, at the conclusion of his show, the gumbo will be served to those in attendance! The show is slated to begin at or near 6:30pm and will end at 8:30 pm.
Tickets are only $10 and all proceeds benefit CarePartners Hospice. All participants for the Mustang show are admitted for free, but a small donation would be appreciated.
As this is a ticketed event, only 250 tickets will be sold to the general public. Please bring lawn chairs for seating. Soft drinks and water will be sold during the show and no coolers are permitted

Pony Run will begin on Sunday at 9:30am and end by 11:30am with the awards ceremony to be held in the mall starting at 12:30pm ending at or about 1:30pm.

We are excited to announce the scheduled appearance of Steve Saleen who will be at our Pony Run to meet and greet and sign autographs for the participants of the show. Steve will also be the Master of Ceremonies for the blues concert that evening and will also be a participant in our Pony Run on Sunday the 27th! Stop by and say hello to Steve and get an autograph!!

Please continue to visit our website for more updates. We do it big up here in the mountains so come and spend a cool September weekend with us!
