If they put rear hips on it that will make it even more retro. My favorite year of the mustang is the 67 fastback, even more so is the 67 shelby GT500, OR GT 350 for that matter. Followed by the 69, 70 mach 1's and boss stangs. So if they keep the mustang looking simular to these I'll keep drowling. Like kooldawg96, if they keep changing to models I like better, I'll never get one paid off. Of course unless I just keep the one I have plus buy a new one. No law says a man can't have a pair of stangs or 4 or 5 for that matter hee hee.

I agree with everything you said... expect for what you posted, about nobody really knowing what the 2010 re-design will look like..

Although those of us here don't know...There are those who work at Ford, that have already seen it..

If you don't like the retro look go buy a 350Z, the retro look is the first thing they've done right in a long time for the stang. The 99-04 looked like it was carved from a block of wood, way to edgy. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

I don't think hips will suit the car as the belt line is way too high. All the kits I've seen look like someone kicked them up the ass. They'd have to lower the window line and the ass to make the hips work.

If done right, the S197 retro fastback could look good, but will it be appealing to most buyers? I could see it being a big turnoff which won't be good for any of us Like LV51FER said the back is just too big in current form.

I totally agree with everything you posted.. plus, in order for a full fastback to look right

The A-pillar posts, would also need moved up forward...Along with the roofline having a flatter angle, before sloping down into the trunk/rear of the car..

Otherwise both the roof and window lines, would look way too high and flat..

In other words, the car would look more like...the 71-73 Mustang Flatback greenhouse...

thought the newest Stang Gt design will be a 2009???
Why they pushed it back?
They will have trouble selling them since the Camaro and Challengers will be out by then.....

The Challengers will be the same prices as the Chargers....
But at least the prices will be around the same as a Stang Gt.
At least ford dealers will not be able to screw yea on the price like they did with the 2005s.
Otherwise many will go with the Camaros or Mopars......
Think the newest stang should be a 2009......Otherise fords Junk bonds will be rated alot lower.....Ford might be out of business or be sold by 2011.....
You think I am wrong,,,,ford has been losing sooooo much money and I am sure that they will sell the company just like Mopar........

Subwaytrain...You're absolutely 100% wrong, and here's why ! First of all..Ford is beginning to slowly show signs of recovery..And second, Mopar is in far worse shape than both Ford, and GM combined..As Daimler practically gave away Chrysler to the Cerberus group, just for the sake of getting rid of it..In fact they even gave Cerberus money as an extra incentive, to take Chrysler off it's hands..

In addition.. there's already rumors, that Cerberus intends to eventually dissolve Chrysler's U.S operations altogether, in favor of expanding into global network based in China..

As for Ford..there not going anywhere, as they own Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Aston-Martin..Plus they also have operations, in Europe, S. America, and Australia going for them, as well..

That $38,000 price tag.. is MSRP ! by the time their greedy stealerships add ADM markup's..The price tag will more than likely add up to around $45,000-$50,000

Well I am sure they can call any price they want...............
I am sure the SRT Hemi Challenger will be around the $40,000 PLUS mark?
The Basic Hemi Challenger will be around the $32,000 mark?
Yes Mopar will be out of business in a few years MAYBE.
But look at Fords stock,,,its rated as junk.
Yes I would not buy Fords stock,,,,,your only going to lose money,I rather buy Options in oil.....
Ford is gettng rid of Volvo and Mazda soon.
I think Volvo is doing well overseas
But Ford Even selling Stangs will not bring their stocks up where people will invest in them.
I think this is the LAST round to buy a Stang GT before ford Stangs are coming from China...........
Look at the newest 2008 Trucks that are being built in Mexico that are owned by China so there are no Taxes to be paid....
In the next few years China will hurt america(they have been doing it for years}
Maybe China will export their Ford Stang Gts from Mexico to the states in 2011?
You really think Ford,GM will be america owned?I really think China will own them in less then 5 years....

Where did you find out, that Ford plans to get rid of Mazda and Volvo ? This wouldn't make any logical sense whatsoever, as both Mazda and Volvo are doing very well for Ford, in overall sales..

Besides, Ford also has a joint partnership with Mazda at their Flat Rock assembly plant..

Sorry, but once again...I must respectfully disagree

Ford has made it very public that they want to get rid of Volvo for at least a year now.
You will need to watch more of CNBC on cable..........
But they cannot get any buyers for Volvo(Cars and not the truck division}

Only the Challenger will be out, before the Mustang and Camaro...

As the Challenger will be out.. this upcoming spring..

Where as the Camaro won't be out, until mid 2009.. around the same time as the re-designed Mustang..

The original 2009 re-fresh.. was going to be out this upcoming summer...Until Ford learned of GM's decision to move forward with it's production plans, for their upcoming 2010 Camaro..

As a direct result ! Mark Fields then decided.. he wanted more than just a cosmetic facelift to compete with the upcoming Camaro...Therefore, this was Ford's reason for pushing back the re-design..

That being said ! The upcoming 2010 Camaro, will NOT be out.. before the re-designed Mustang..

On blue oval news, ford agreed to keep volvo and mazda has never been on the table. Last summer ford signed a 10 year agreement with mazda on a on going partnership. The only reason ford is offing land rover is so they can get rid of jag and thats still not for sure. Last I heard there were still no takers.

I don't know when or what day they were talking about Mazda(Think it was about a year ago}
Volvo was talked about a few months ago.They said that there were no takers on Volvo at the time.(Geeeee I thought everyone watched CNBC lol}
I guess I will shop and see if I can get a Hemi Challenger at INVOICE.
If not I will shop at all the dealers that have them and Iam sure by months end that I will be able to get one.(last day of the month is the best time to get a car at the bestest price}
Geeeeee I only have a few months before the Challengers hit the market?
Hope to get $17,000-$19,000 for my 06 Stang Gt and the rest I will pay in cash,,,,screw payments lol.......
