Hi, Im thinking of doing the spark plugs on my 09 with 102,000 miles on it. I’m not the original owner so I have no idea if they’ve been changed or not. Now I’m familiar with the infamous 3v spark plugs breaking in half, but I have heard that they updated the design after 2008, so I’m wondering if I have the better one piece plugs or not. Any info would be appreciated, thank you.

You need not worry. You do indeed have the updated plugs as the head/plug design was changed on all 3V Mustangs built from 1st December 2007 onwards.

Another question.. what spark plugs do I use? Is it the motor craft (SP509)? I’m worried I’ll buy the outdated two piece design.

Yup, the SP 509 is the correct plug for your engine.
