Gee I wonder how many people will order the Newest and Greatest 2010 Stang Gt
In early Nov of this year....
To me I have NOOOO idea what the car will look like with less then 8 months away.
I will Not order a stang Gt
But I will wait and see what the car looks like in late Feb or early March of 2009 when they are on the dealer lots.....

If the Stang Gt has the same engine as the Mustang Gt Today 4.6
I will buy a 2010 Camaro SS
If they UPGRADE the engine then I will lean towards the Stang Gt....
But if Ford is thinking of adding a More powerfull Engine in their basic Mustang Gts in 2011
I will have to go with the 2010 Camaro or a 2009 Challenger RT.
But I feel this is a break or make for ford.
If you are making a 2010 Stang Gt,Put the newest Engine with more HP Nowwwww
If you wait you will screw yourselfs........:SNSign:

From what I've heard the new GT with be getting a 5.0 and the performance v6 will will be getting around 300 ponies from a turbo vs...this is just what I've heard from a source at Ford.

But who knows how reliable anyone at Ford is.

I would not be surprised if Ford brough back the 302 though...it's the only way to compete with GM and Dodge's big CI motors.

I didn't read the article too closely on the homepage, but wasn't that 400 hp Boss 5.0 killed for the mustang? I don't think they have the twin turbo v6 available for production yet, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see that option in a couple/few years.

I'm sure the final version of the 2010 Mustang will be released before orders are taken.

it just sucksssssss
I have a 2006 Stang GT and owe not a thing,Paid offffff, cash is burning a hole in my pocket
So the car has 28,000 miles on it
But I feel like a new stang gt,and think the 2009 would be a waste of money
when in a few months the newest stang gt will be out.....
But a few say the the new updated engine with 400HP will be in
the 2011 Stang Gt,,,,Why wait a year to put it in????Have it in the 2010-......
I think they were going to released it as a 2009 stang Gt until GM
put off the camaro for a year.....
But if Ford thinks I am going to wait till Sept 2010 for the more HP stang Gt,they are crazy....
Yep I would hope we get the see what the car looks like before Nov 2008

It was the 400 HP 6.2L Boss SOHC that Ford killed off for the Mustang, however the Boss 6.2L will still be available for the F-250 super duty trucks exclusively.

Meanwhile both the Mustang and the regular F-150 trucks, will be getting the new 5.0L 400HP modular DOHC in 2011, which will also be more fuel efficient than the current 4.6L !

The boss 6.2 will be in the 09 F-150 raptor pre-runner truck, so it just won't be in the F-250.

Very good point indeed Fang. I know if I had money burning in my pockets, I would've purchased a 2008 Shelby GT 500, instead of my 2005 Mustang GT.

Or even better yet, how about a 2008 Shelby GT 500KR or Super Snake lol.

Well according to the Detroit News, Ford has shelved the Raptor indefinitely. So for the time being, the 6.2L Boss will be going in the F-250 super duty only.

And FYI, 2009 will be the final production year for the Ranger !

The raptor isn't selved, it's been in truck trend and a couple of the off road mags. If it's been selved, it's only happened in the last week, cause there's allready some running around in detroit and arizona proving grounds they have captured some spy shots. It was all the rage in the last truck trend. With slumping truck sales, ford needs something exciting and new to get people interested again. As for a 400 hp mustang, you can buy them right now, besides shelby, you have roush, saleen and steeda, also there's a new player in the performance mustang feild, it was in the last issue of FF&MM, but I forgot what there name was now. Like I've said many times, it doesn't matter how much hp the GT has it won't be enough, and were gonna mod for more. Just buy the GT you want then add the bells and whistles to you get to the 5 or 600 hp you want. It's gonna cost you money if you do it or if ford does it. Thats crazy talk, buying a camero just to get 400 hp. Sure you will have 400 hp, but it would be in an ugly ass camero, I'ld rather look good and be slow than to look like like a bag of smashed *******s and be fast. Cause no matter how fast you are, there's allways someone faster. If 400 hp was the biggest factor, I would at least buy the dodge, at least it looks good. "Hell", at the 300 hp the GT is fast enough to get you into trouble and get ya killed for that matter. A low 13 second car for 26 grand is a good deal to me. However, were gonna get a 400 hp 5.0 in the near future, but it won't be in my 07 and thats the car I like and bought. Since I allready own the 07, makes more sense to get 400 hp out of it rather than buying a new car and starting over. All this whining over stock hp when no one leaves them stock anyway.
JD engineering got 401 rwhp with a 298 3 valve and a set of comp cams with phase limiter in a street legal package cheaper than what an ugly ass camero will cost. Who cares how much hp the next mustang will have, I'm doing good to pay for this one and the gas to feed it. I would like to see some of you guy's go out and buy a new camero and get spanked the first time you run it. Mustangs are more than a hp number, there an icon, an american legend, there more than just a car, there a way of life. Camero my ass!!!!!!!

Geeeee I do think I have cash burning a hole in my pocket.......
As for the Camaro,It does not look bad at alllll, from the pics that I have seen.
Why would I buya shelby with the dealer over inflated prices and very high markups....
I am sure that many people that will buy a 2010 Stang GT for around the $27,000-$30,000 will be happy.I know I would be
Untill they find out the year after(2011 Stang Gt}will give you 100 HP more without costing anything more.(I know I would be very annoyed}
Its very simple, ford knew and had time to put a 400HP engine into their 2010 Gts.
But I cannot see why they want to wait a year?
by the time they release the car you will have 2 BASIC cars Camaro and Challenger that will be giving you much more HP for around the same price.

Don't expect to buy the new camaro without a mark up either. I've also heard that gt 500's can be found for MSRP. I don't know how accurate that is but I'll bet you can get one for MSRP by the time the camaros come out.

I still can't see Ford bumping GT hp up by 100 in one model year. The news will kill sales of the current model year. I know people all over the internet say they know someone who has a brother who knows a Ford insider who says the 400 hp 5.0 will be in the next gen GT but I'll wait for the official press anouncement before I believe it. 40 hp is the biggest jump we've seen for the GT and Ford has never tried to compete with GM HP.
Just look at the pre - 99 Gt's, outgunned by around 100 hp by the F bodies, yet still dominated the market in sales.

I'm not holding my breath for a 400 hp Gt, maybe a Boss. According to the home page here the 302 boss isn't scrapped yet, but why would they have a 302 boss and a 302 Gt? They would have to then give the Boss 500 hp to make it attractive over a Gt then you have a conflict between the Boss and the gt500. I'm speculating but just throwing that out there.

Bottom line: Live for the day. The future has no gaurantees.
You have an 06 GT, you aren't exactly driving and old tired car. Enjoy it.

If you have that much money burning a hole in your pocket then just plop a blower on there and blow the doors off a 400 hp 5.0 when they come out.

Hmm, lots of speculation still out there. We can only hope that it will have a more powerful engine. Wish it would be lighter too, but I don't see that going for it : (. Hopefully in 2011 or 2012 we'll see a nice power bump/ new engine. Challenger and Camaro? Competition is good for Ford, now they can't just sit on their heels.

Well if Ford was not going to make some sort of a change with their Mustang Gt for 2010 I would buy a 2008 or 2009 Shelby at Msrp(yep there are shelbys at Msrp}
It was like buying a 2004 Mustang Mack 1 when you know the 2005 were going to look different. So thats the only reason I am not getting a 2010.
I don't know about many of you,I enjoy buying a car every 2 or 3 years.
I feel I will get $14,000 or $15,000 as a tradein and add another $15,000 Cash and I have a new car.......
I do think we will be able to get a Camaro SS for way under MSRP or Invoice.
GM was selling under $11.00 a share today at a 53 year low.....I think GM will have problems selling these cars if
they think they are going to rob the public just like ford did when the 2005 stang gt came out and gas was under $3.00 a gal.
Same goes with Dodge, they lost 37% this quater and I am sure that they are also bleeding

The only thing is that Ford didn't rob the public when the 05's came out, the dealers did.
It's all about supply and demand, if there's a limited number of camaros the first year or first half of the year, there will be mark ups. There's going to be plenty standing in line to buy that car and dealers will cash in on it.
