Lately I've been getting the itch for a new GT. So I went and test drove a Grabber Blue GT premium 5sp w/ 3.73 gears. I like it a lot. The interior and overall build quality are much improved. I love my L, it's been a great truck. It runs 12s with just a pulley and a tune and has been super reliable. Now I just need to decide. Thanks for your input.

Do you need a bed? If so, then it's a no-brainer.

I've never understood the hotrod pickup thing, so the Lightnings never did much for me. A truck's something you tow with, haul big stuff in, or thrash around in the mud in. I know the Lightning's a great performer, but if I want a muscle car, I'll buy a muscle car.

If the Lightning's all you've got to haul with, then it might make sense to hang onto it. My Excursion is my truck, for doing truck stuff. I'd never trade it for a Mustang, because a Mustang can't do truck stuff. But if I had the Ex, and the Lightning, then your question is a no-brainer--I'd buy the 2010.

Don't know if that helps any or not, but you asked for input.

Oh, yeah, and if you're signature line were on Sesame Street, it'd also be easy...

"One of these things
Is not like the other ones
One of these things just doesn't belong..."

At least that's how the song went 40 years ago.

If you're not old enough to follow what I'm saying--you need the 2010 to fill out your set.

This is where I'm torn. The Lightning is quite possibly one of the best looking trucks ever made. It's also an excellent performer. With the possibility of the 2011 Mustang have the new modular 5.0, it's a tough call. Plus the depreciation hit on the new GT is not comparable to the Lightning. I mean it's up to you, but I if I were you, would probably hold on to the Lightning until the 5.0 rumors are confirmed or squashed.

I'm starting to lean towards waiting till 2011 for the new powerplant. Mabe by then I can figure out a way to keep the truck and add another car to the stable. I just hope they still offer Grabber Blue.

If you like trucks then check out the new SVTRaptor.

I'd definitely hold out until next model year to see if Ford brings in the modular 5.0.

I like trucks (fast trucks), I'm just not into off roading. Ford should have put the Gen3 Lightning concept into production.

I'd personally would hold on to the Lightning. Nice truck.

I love Mustangs, but I don't really like the brand new ones. I would much rather have the Lightning.

Keep the truck. The car is just a "GT." Having special models makes them worth keeping.

Give Fays2 Engineering a call and install one of their Watts linkages on your F150. You just might not want to sell it after that.
