I was really excited to see "Ford Mustang" banners throughout the Champions League this year, especially at the Finals in Lisbon.
Little did I know, Ford was opening pre-orders for Europe at the Finals. Five hundred lucky individuals were able to order within a 90 minute window across 20 countries. All 500 were claimed within 30 seconds. In fact, there were over 9,000 orders attempted in the window before Ford shut it down.
Is this a good sign for the global strategy? Or is this merely USA citizens abroad who are trying to get a Mustang?
I think that is a good sign for Fords new global marketing push! I'm curious as to the release of only 500 units? I sincerely hope that they don't play the supply and demand game against so many other big European players in the same market.
