I have what I was told is an original 289 hi-po short block, pistons on rods assembled in block with crank. Is there a way to tell for sure that it is a hi-po? It does have valve reliefs cut in the pistons, but should there be part numbers on the pistons or crank?

The Block number should be C6AE or C5AE -6015-E look for the heavy duty main caps

The crank number is C3 OZ-6303-B

The rods will have 9/16 nuts instead of the standard 1/2 inch nuts The part number is C3AE-D
