I'm not angry. At all. Expressing my perspective. What makes you think I'm excited?

Well post #20 gives the notion that your a little upset. I guess i dont mind the swapped cars because i am not in denial about what my car really is... Its not ford powered, the only thing under the hood still ford is the block, Using a different brand to power the car is the same thing as aftermarket parts. If you use trick flow heads, you are ditching ford technology, the 2JZ swap is an extreme example, but i find the guys that rant about ford only power to be hypocritical if they put any aftermarket parts on thier car

If I were upset you would know. Not to mention the lack of usage of exclamation and capitol, or bold letters which are all general indication in written text of heightened emotion.

That being said, I am not, nor see any way I have been in denial.

Lastly, you have an interesting point. What is funny is 90% of my car is still Ford parts. Ford intake manifold, injectors, driveshaft, gears etc etc... I do have TW heads, but I dont feel that it makes it not Ford powered. I can appreciate yoru perspective and its an interesting one no doubt, but I do not share you opinion.

Wasnt singling you out directly, i knew your car was mostly ford, I can respect going that route too...

The 2JZ is an extreme example, I'd never put any import motor in my car but the LS stuff to me is just an evolution of small blocks and a compilation of what chevy/ford and the aftermarket have done over the last 50 years, which isnt much different from how my SB, and many others are built

post #20 did sound a bit excited , just sayin'

and I would never anything under my hood other than a ford based powerplant but over the years I have come to respect the level of engineering it takes to get something like that to work and the fact it runs so damn fast. Ask me a few years ago if I do a LSX swap and I'd tell ya to shove it. Tell me now and I'd ask how much it would cost. To me as long as it's not an import I'm good with it. Each to their own...............

I think its hysterical people get so heated when you put another manufacturers engine between the shock towers of a mustang.. Who seriously gives a chit.. Its about being different right?

the car looks fairly stock, doesn't have any ricer body kits, or any neons, and has a helluva engine and it HAULLLSSSS.... i don't need to get a clue, or penis or whatever was being rambled earlier on...

I just don't understand this mentality, saying "in a sea of the same old 5.0 bolt on cars"....well uh, exactly what do you expect with a FORD MUSTANG? That's exactly what it's supposed to be people. That's like walking down the beach and saying "all i see is the same old boobs here and ass there, it's so refreshing to see a chick with a penis".

you guys keep referencing girls with wangs... thats all ill say about that...

Now for a straight mans version of your analogy... So your at the beach, and all you see is pale white girls, now that would be kinda boring woulndt it, so mabye you would say, man it would be nice to see a chick with a tan. See i replaced the word "penis" with the word "tan" so now the statement makes more sense and is way less homoerotic

Yeah, but the analogy is flawed. It's not refreshing to see a car with the wrong motor in it. I don't much like seeing a ford motor in a Camaro in all honesty. I think the transvestite or transgender comment is more along the lines of accurate.

Since pale girls are less preferable than tan girls, then I'd have to say that it would be more accurate to say that if you're at a beach with a lot of tan girls, it still isn't refreshing to see a really pale girl out there.

Or it could kind be funny to say at a beach full of tan girls, you see a girl nice dark red sun burn and say to yourself, "What the hell was she thinking?" or "Holy ****! that was dumb!"

Well ALRIGHTY Then!!! I'm trying to determine if any of this stuff is aimed at me. (if it is please humor me and quote it correctly)
I said "sea of mustang after mustang" not "sea of the same old 5.0 bolt on cars".. I expected that it would ruffle a few feathers, there is evidently purists in this forum too.
The fact of the matter is this. all I was trying to say is that it is straight up BS to think that changing the engine out in one of these cars is "bastardizing" it.

It is all about the level of what you're willing to accept as "improvements" before you start bastardizing your car....i.e. you get it making big power I'm talking 1500 hp, and despite your ford loyalities,...that C-4 is not gonna be up to the task. Now to avoid all kinds of broken junk, you're putting in an aftermarket chevrolet design based POWERGLIDE in order to make the race.

The car doesn't care what engine it has, people are the ones that get a bug in their ass over it. People will say that I have bastardized my notch because it has 68 tailights, and a 02 2v motor in it, SO WHAT!

And face it...I like fords....I have never put anything but a ford engine in any car I've modified, (even the ricer I posted pics of earlier). But despite the fact that I like fords doesn't mean that a modified mustang (using current mods) is'nt still just another damn mustang. The car can be 100 different colors, and underneath it's STILL just a mustang.

This is where I get all bothered by the mentality of it all,... I am old enough to remember a time when you picked up any car mag,.. car craft, hot rod popular hotrodding etc. and it was cover to cover Camaro's. You got sick of seeing story after story of the same old crap. It was one of the reasons I held on to my 69 mach1 back then.. it was different!
There wasn't anything you could do to the windsor back then, there were'nt any heads or good intakes, & what there was was expensive. You had to work to make it fast. Unlike Joe bowtie, who only had to throw a few commonly available parts together and he couldn't help but go fast.

The mustang has become the camaro of the 70's,.... they're everywhere, you can't spit out of your window w/o hitting a mustang. I like the car, but I don't take offense when somebody modifies it. I said on a different thread that what happens to a mustang after the decision to make it a purpose built drag car is far worse ( in most cases) i.e. gutted interior, "sawzall radiused" wheel wells, a single plastic race bucket, automatic shifter welded on a stand 6" above the tunnel w/ an electric shift solenoid changing gears, and the essential delay box some how fastened to the dash where the radio used to be. to anything that could happen to it at the hands of a capable builder/modifier regardless of what he puts in it.

For someone to make references to anyone that modifies a car w/ different running gear to somebody w/ sexual identity issues,...
It's a car dude,.. no bodies talking about endorsing a sex change.

For those of you that were put off by these and earlier comments,....sorry
or get a life, which ever applies.

If you can't see the obvious connection between a hot car with an engine that doesn't belong, and a hot girl with a wiener that doesn't belong, then obviously analogies aren't your strong point

My thoughts exactly. I like how someone earlier simplified it by mentioning a transvestite... kind of sums up the analogy..

Ok, i missed the part where you decide what motor belongs in what car. Would you be this upset if a guy put a 300 I-6 with a turbo instead of the toyota motor? Would that still be qualified as a bastard child tranny or would that be like a chick with a busted ravioli? Or would it be cool cause its a ford motor?
