2nd gear launches?

I have 4.10 gears with a tremac. I ususaly launch at 5,000 with slicks 26x10 by just dumping the clutch, but i always have trouble hitting 1st to 2nd. So would it hurt to launch at those RPMS in second? A buddy said he figured it out and it would be like launching in 1 st with like a 3.90 gear? peace

More like lauching in first with a 2.73 I bet. I see burned out clutches in no time. Only one way to really find out.

Which tremec? Tremec is a brand and makes 7 or 8 different transmissions for the Mustang alone.

Stick to launching in 1st. Launching in 2nd will either smoke your clutch or break something.

Tryed launching in second a few times with my car. It was faster in the first 60 feet to launch in first and shift to second.
