I know this has been asked over 1000 times but I just can't decide even after using the search button. I am going to be getting gears and later down the road probably in the spring or summer I will be swapping out the stock intake for most likely an Edelbrock Performer. My question is which gears to go with? Given the mods in my sig as well as the Intake later on would 3.73 or 4.10s be a better choice. I don't drive on the highway that much but I do once in a while. The car is however my daily driver. I'm not going to get too crazy with mods after the Intake and Gears so which choice is best?

3.73's

i have them, they are the perfect gear, any lower(numerically higher) would be way too short, first gear with 4.10's is only like 5feet long, and 5th gear would come at about 40mph, too short for me.

Go 3.73's :nice:

be warned-car will haul ass after install :D

I have a Tremec TKOII, and 3.73 gears. My car is driven around town, and occasionally on the highway. I would not prefer 4.10's, as my car already has traction problems with street tires and my existing gears. In 5th gear on the freeway, I am at about 3,000 rpm at 70mph.

Well, my two cents is to go with the 3.73's if you're running a T-5. I find that I'm running out of first gear pretty fast with 3.73's and that's with an all stock top end and headers/X-pipe/cat-back. I think with the intake you'll find you're going to run out of 1st gear even quicker. I like the 3.73's and wouldn't go higher - I've actually considered going down to 3.55's with new heads/intake/cam. That's my $0.02

I'd say 3.73's too. they made night and day diff on my car and I came stock with 3.27's. Great for daily drivers and more than adequate for the drag strip. With good driving and 3.73's you should be a low 14 sec player for sure.
