whats the difference in the dash of a 1996 v6 dash and dash harness and a 1996 gt dash and dash harness....



also is there any other things needed in the swap i am doing from the 1996 ford mustang 3.8 to the 1996 ford mustang 4.6 gt?

First the gauges are different. The Speedo goes to 120 in a 6 and 150 in the GT

There are very few differences in the dash itself as the original car and donor car are the same Model Year.

As pointed out above, the cluster is different. I maybe wrong, but since the 96-98 does NOT use an electronic cluster, other than the top speed being different, it should work.

Please consider getting yourself a full set of wiring diagrams. This will allow for quick comparision between the models as all of the differences are noted in the diagrams.

ive also heard that all you have to do is get the 4.6 engine harness and they say it plugs directly into the firewall and there is no need to do anything with the dash...


i got the gt guage cluster...

is there any other things that you could mention that id need to complete the swap i have rear end, suspension ,engine harness, fuel injection harness but i wanna know everything if im missing anything at all thanks for the help

CCRM, cooling fan, radiator, AC controls, engine mounts, K-member, transmission, drive shaft, rear diff come quickly to mind.

Is the unsprung Spring rate the same in the V-6's.
