has anyone heard of the 3'' exhaust made by Magnaflow? I think the kit comes with the magnapacks. Is this a good thing to do if i am supercharged?

I'm purchasing the 3" cat back from a guy used who only put 200 miles on it before he sold his stang. I have seen it in person and it is NICE!

I would think being supercharged, the better the exhaust flow the better you will be. So the 3" cat back would be beneficial.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ive got the magnaflow x-pipe with high flow cats and the 3" catback with magnapacks and its great with my procharger

Does the 3'' piping make it sound any different?

Larger diameter pipes usualy make the tone deeper.

MM&FF had an article on the 3" magniflows a couple of months back. If I remember correctly with out a S/C the car will lose tourqe throughout the entire RPM range. They recommended it only for S/C aplications.

thats what magnaflow told me as well, i drove it without the s/c for a short while and i didnt notice that much in a loss but i did gain hp. Weapon-R Intake Magnaflow catted x-pipe and no tune got me 291rwhp. Altough now with the s/c it great!

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but appears you and have similar q's about the same product....

So would everyone recommend that I not go with the 3" Magnaflow catback since I am non s/c and will be for at least a year or two? I love low end torque and HP and don't want to lose any of it for the sake of sound.

Keep in mind I can get a slightly used 3" Magnaflow Catback and catted bassani x all for $500. Good deal, but I don't like the idea of losing power. I am also getting a C&L Racer intake with a Excalibrator from Brenspeed at the same time. I wonder if the combo will help it to 300 rwhp???

N/A motors, esp those fairly close to stock need back pressure to produce maximum power. You start reducing back pressure and your power will suffer to a certain extent(all fine and dandy for those who don't need every single drop of power). F/I on the other hand loves larger pipes. Ever noticed just how big the pipes are on a diesel pickup???? That is from the factory as well.
