Does anyone make a kit (tailpipes, etc) with this size tubing?

would you want to go that big? i would think you would loose to much back pressure. unless you have like mad boost or somthing.

Car is tubbed, so I have room. Car has about 800 HP with 15 lbs boost on a 460. I'm guessing no kits though.

in that case either find a shop that does mandrel bends or buy some and fab it then take it to get welded.

I had a buddy that ran 3"(+) on his 72 Mach with a built 460 stroker, but he used that flexy tubing and ran it under the axle

Interesting website for your car. I am actually pondering doing a 460 twin turbo, BUT: a 460 small block...or 427. Love the new World Man-O-War block.

Have to admire your persistance...you keep screwing around with the same car. Seems more cost effective to sell a COMPLETED car and start over...but what do I know?!

A buddy of mine just completed his 67 427 FE Cougar.
He went 3.5" from headers to a 3.5" by 3" X pipe, then 3" over the axle and out the back.
He went with Dr. Gas components with Spintech mufflers.
The 3" pipes over the axle were not in the Dr. Gas catalog, but 2.5s were.
He contacted them and they were happy to bend him up a set of 3s on the same pattern. I've seen them and they tuck up over the axle very nicely.
Hope this helps,
Joe

So I guess I should be all knowing on the rest of the car because the engine has 800 hp? Not sure I'm following your logic, but I'll try staying at a Holiday Inn Express tonight and see if that helps. I might also learn to speak 3 languages, fly a plane, play golf and learn some atomic theory too.

Building vs owning

I'm thinking I like building these more than owning them. Seriously though, the last build and paint was done half a**ed and I regretted it every time I got in the car. The guy did a horrible paint and flame job and I wanted a 5 speed. One thing leads to another and here we are. It is getting close to going to paint, so I should have it done in 4-5 months. I'm planning to leave it alone for awhile then

I love the big blocks. Maybe it's a sickness.

I know a guy that was selling his dual turbo 460 set up. I'll track him down if you want. Let me know.

Hey Mike, I have a 71 Boss with 3" all the way from headers to rear exhaust leading to 4" round tips. It fit tightly but nice nonetheless. I had it done at a shop. The axle does sometimes ping the exhuast when the car is driven on roads that greatly compress the springs, but it doesn't happen often.

I understand you are contemplating it for your 67, so I would figure it has less clearance than a 71 if it were oem. Since yours is mini-tubbed, it has to help. IMO, best for a shop to mandrel bend it for you, at least the tailpipes. This is the best pic I have for the rear.

I made the 2.5 system that it has now cutting and splicing. I could probably do the same on the 3.0, but I'd hoped for something a little nicer. I live in a small town, no where near a big town, so no mandrel benders that I know of.

Love your car Frank. Very nice. The bosses are awesome.
