Sounds really good.

Now a newb question, Im not going to lie I really don't understand how cams work and how the duration and all that works. But if you only added a cam to a bone stock 2v does it add significant amount of power or are more boltons needed to get better gains??

Thanks! And thanks to all for the compliments...

03, cams will give you a gain if your car is fairly stock, however you wont see their full potential without the other bolt ons like tb, exhaust and such...

Im not a cam genius either so maybe someone else on here could give you the speech on cams caused im sure id Prolly give some incorrect information...or at least not be able to explain it lol

I mean I understand that they allow the motor to breathe better at the higher rpms, but other than that I have no idea how duration and all that works. Im interested in doing all motor for my car but most ppl say that the 2v wont hit more than 325 HP with full boltons and a cam... They say just supercharge it for the same price but I just like the idea of a all motor car...

Sorry I dont want to hijack the thread but if someone can explain the benefits I would appreciate it!

Just out of curiosity.. Any dyno #'s from the cams? I'm considering cams however I need to know there will be a decent gain from them.

Im honestly not too sure on what all the duration means either....I just want with what everyone was recommending at the time...

The best numbers I've seen out if the car were 318/327....it now makes 308/320 BUT the drop was for driveability and not for all out performance....I also have compression to help get the numbers up there

Damn your hp numbers seem right but those were some pretty lofty torque gains there. How was the seat dyno after cams?

98Cobra - If those are Nick's turbo cams, then do not expect much of a lope. I know of 3 people using Nick's turbo cams, and all 3 have near stock idle with them, but produce big power numbers. When I talked to Nick over the phone about turbo camshafts, he said due to the LSA and exhaust overlap of the cam needed for a turbo camshaft, that it would not produce much of a lope.

I can post the sheet when I get home....butt dyno is nice when half to full throttle.....normal stop light to stop light kinda sucks though cause the power and torque are at the high end

BurningRubber, i guess i missed the question you asked...they feel the same as they always had except the car shakes a little more at idle...we really only messed with the idle to see what we could come up with...i was tired of having a performance oriented cam that made me seem like a liar when i said i had cams since it was barely noticeable

Thanks!

keep in mind, most HiTechs stage 2's dont sound like this...comp 270's will, but not hitechs. for those of you looking for a lopey cam, this is not what you are looking for. Honestly i wish i could have gotten Comp or CMS cams because of the lope.

Hitech's are a cam that will get you great performance, driveability, and power, but for that, they sacrafice the lope sound...I have been unsatisfied with the lop since day one so finally i got with my tuner and said have at it and this is what he came up with..performance wise it does nothing but sound wise it finally gave it the sound of a stage 2 it should have had to begin with

um sorry but as a joke i unhooked the pcv line from the throttle body on my brothers 00gt and sounded just like that, hmm maybe im wrong tho. but if you call that sexy then your blind. i aint never heard cams surge like that unless theres a blower i mean a big one, without a tune. but im callin BS unless i see proof.

Yea i guess your right 2v's cant cam hard like that....

Desperate need of a tune!

i dont think my car idles any different than ryans

i was just excited about finally getting the hitechs to lope since they barely ever did..My tuner is pretty good...he's very meticulous and wont let a car leave without it being perfect...im sure he could do your car just fine...he just finished a 2011 with a hellion kit and it made 600/600..

However, when it comes to tuning a turbo car he WILL take a long time...he took 2 days on the 2011...but he only charged for a few hours..

Thing is, you know where i work and i have access to him 24/7 so that is really the reasoning i was able to get the tune dead nuts perfect and to actually work with the idle. If i didnt work with him then my lope would still be barely audible

Sounds mean arty!! gotta love cammed 2v's nothing but attention at lights haha Mine needs a tune bad some days it feels like stalling some days it loves running!
