302 Intake on 289 engine?

I may have got myself in a pickle here, but will a edlebrock performer http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...d=1,1&item=7972651186&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT work on my 66's 289? im hoping so I also got this carb http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...d=1,1&item=7971088084&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT Will I be needing any more parts to get this changeover going from 2 to 4 barrel

Should be OK. The 289 & 302 are the same topside.

If you have 351 heads on a 302 (or 289) then they require a different gasket as the front water passage is different.

It'd pay to get a phenolic spacer for the carb, keeps some heat away. You'll obviously also need an air cleaner base to suit the 4 barrel

289 and 302 are the same everything except the minor internal difference. anything on a 289 or 302 will innerchange externally. think of them as the same engine as far as this is concerned. thats why the intake is called the performer 289. even if you have 351 heads on a 289 or 302, same intake, its just the coolant passages can be slightly different, but thats the same as the later 302 heads being different too. most gaskets have a cutout that you discard if you dont need it.

no worries, your good, all my engine stuff.....intake, carb, mallory dist and elec ign., russel wire looms, holley valve covers, etc....all came off a 64 fairlane with a 289 and i have a 302
