302 to 347

im thinking about building my 302 into a 347 stroker. would my 165 AFR heads work with the 347 or would they be to small. also about how much would it be to have the block bored out?

A 347 requires a 3.40" stroke crank, 5.4" or 5.315" length rod, 1.09" or 1.175"CH piston (depending on the rod), and the block would have a .030" overbore......

The 165 will work on the 347, a bigger head would be better for all out output but you can make a very nice combo using the 165's.

I would expect the bore/hone price is around $30 dollars per cylinder. Your looking at $200-$300 depending on quality of shop and or how much they will rip you off.

I think mine was $250 through Keith Craft.

Rick set you straight on what it takes to do a 347

Those AFR 165's would be just fine, if you want to save some change. Are you going to use your stock block?
