So ive been having some cooling issues w/my 2nd 347. Everything in combo is same but the Fcam is replaced w/the Stg2 and the Cobra intake is now a TFS Trackheat. Ive replaced all sensors, 2 therms. 106-180 and 2 New water pumps. No change, so i replaced the HG's(1011-2) and had the Heads checked for warpage. The block and heads were checked and prepped prior to rebuild, but at the temps i was running i had to have the heads checked again. I fig. the OEM gauge crapped out cause i scanned engine w/infared gun(stock gauge read "N" and above and the therm. housing was 212) So i put in a Elec. Autometer temp. gauge and im at 230 and higher on the new gauge. Ive burped the system, flushed the system, tried diff. %'s of fluid to water mix, water wetter and a 2950cfm elec. fan. Could Timing be the factor in my engine running sooo hot, I have not had it chipped yet and it seems im always having to move my dist. around to get rid of the det.(hot, warm and cold) one day it ran great at 11 deg. and then the next day i have to retard it alittle even if i run 100 ocatne mix w/91. I smell fuel now in my engine compartment and my gas mileage is 150-160 a tank. And my engine light is on so i will have it scanned in the morn. ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT. NEED MORE INFO LET ME KNOW.
OH YEH ! when i scanned the engine w/ the infared gun #8 on the header was 150deg. hotter than the rest.(bad inj. ?)

TwEECer that son of a bitch so you can set your own fan settings. Invest in a Fluidyne radiator. Your cylinder walls are closer together, your rods travel a longer distance, you're going to have heat! I don't know what else to tell you. I had serious overheating problems with my 347 until I installed a Fluidyne radiator and set my own fan speeds. I don't know if I had a bad stock radiator or what but those two mods cured my problems.

You missed my sig. i have a Fluidyne rad. and set my fan on a manual switch. My last 347 ran rather cool around 190-210 with the same mods.
