Alright, i am in the process of building a 347 stroker for my 95 GT. I would like to be running around 550 RWHP and would appreciate any help. Here is a list of parts i already have, first off i have a stock block, Trick flow Twisted Wedge street heads, trickflow upper and lower intake manifold, CAI, i think i have 32 lb injectors but im not for sure, they could be 24 lb. I have underdrive pulleys, edlebrock shortie headers. also i have a t-5 tranny, and 3.73 gears. i will probably buy a stroker kit off of ebay from TMD, and it will probably be a forged kit because i plan on either spraying it or boosting it later on down the line. im not for sure how to tune the 95 computer, so any suggestions with that would also be helpful. any suggestions on camshafts would also be helpful. I am open for comments and tips, anything to help would greatly be appreciated. thanks.

I hope you like the oil and the crank outside the engine with 550 RWHP....so with that in mind either look at making a bit less hp or going with a better block....Unless you dont care about reliabilty

Ok, are you saying you want 550rwhp with or without the power adders? To get that kind of power N/A, you are really going to have to go for some much bigger heads. You need to start thinking about what kind of power adder you want before you start building the engine. If you want a boosted application, that is going to mean a different cam and lower compression. For a boosted application you are going to want something along the lines of a 42lb/hr injector. Nitrous you can go with a 30lb/hr. Nothing smaller than that though. I would strongly recommend stepping up to a 351 block, and doing a 408 stroker. I regret building a 347. You're always on the edge of what the block will take. If you want a 347 with 550rwhp, you are going to have to step up to a Dart block, or a Ford racing block to have any margin of strength. The cost of a racing block will easily make up the difference in price of going to a 351 factory style block. If you are looking for 550rwhp, I would skip the Twisted Wedge street heads, and go to either a Trick Flow Hi-port, or R series Twisted Wedge. You're going to need to spray about 200 on top of that.

I would do a 351 based motor too. I have a 347 and it would not have been much more to go with a 351 stroker....

Wait for the new DART block to come out. It will probably run around $13-1400 and handle near or over 1000 HP.

550 RWHP will not be a reliable method to go about it, let alone the RPM needed for that kind of HP.

You won't need much rpm with a nice turbo. You really won't need any rpm if you go up to a 4" stroke.

Thanks for the help guys, its much appreciated. Ive decided not to go with the 347 stroker, instead im just going to rebuild my 306 because it should take much to get running again, then im going to start shopping around for a 351w block and build a 408 stroker.
