What would I have to do to my 1996 2V to get 350 rwhp out of it? I want to stay N/A and I don't want to use NOS either.

Any ideas?

get one of vtengines 324 stroker 2v's cause in the long run, that'll be cheaper. also.... any reason that you want to stay n/a i mean 350rwhp is 350rwhp any way you cut it. it's just you will spend more money one way than the other. just my .02

Yeah man, your in for a lot of $$$ and its not helping that your a '96 either. You will need every bolt on known to Mustang kind, Pulley's, Gears/Chip, L/T headers, o/r Mid pipe, full cat back, worked over heads, ported intake, and a cam that will probably keep you well off the street. Not to mention the MAF, CAI, TB, and Plenum.
For all that money man just put a down payment on a '04 or save up for the '05 Cobra

Oh yeah, after all this, you probably still wont be at 350 at the wheels

i once asked if i could get to 300 rwhp while staying N/A, and I was told it would cost about the same as getting a supercharger. so i said screw it, i'll just get the s/c and tune it to 450 rwhp

yeah, staying N/A and having that power would require a completely blue printed motor, PI heads, p/p.. and cams, longtubes.. Would be cheaper to just blow it

Stroker, Gutted PI Heads, BIG Custom Cams, Logntubes, Off Road Pipes, every little Bolt-On, and a BADASS Dyno Tune might get you there.

Youd spend more trying to get a N/A 350 than you would to blow it. The latest issue of Muscle Mustang ans fast fords did every bolt on possible including balanced forged shortblock, ported heads and cams and got 317 N/A rwhp. For you to get 350 you would need a stroker, custom intake, cams, heads, boltons, full length headers, and a high compression ratio.

Stroker Shortblock $3500 at the very least sean hyland wants $5500
Ported Heads $1500 bottom dollar.
Cams $600
Intake $1200
All the bolt ons plus assembly parts and gaskets(pulleys, throttle body, CAI, mass air, headers, ETC ETC) $1500 bottom dollar
More if you cant install the cams and heads yourself.

Total $8300 doing work yourself and finding cheapest parts possible.

Blower $4000 and get 350 hp or swap in a 4 valve.

I believe I've seen it done, like once or twice at most.

SVO heads, worked big time, SVO intake, worked also, cams, and all the other good stuff, with really high compression, and I "believe" that guy was around 350 or so.

Did someone call my name?? Yea n/a is my specialty and to get those numbers you are looking to spend at least $10-15K to get in that range. Also once you do the MAJOR mods to hit that number, kiss streetability good bye. People may argue this but since no one has done 350rwhp and retain streetability we must assume it isnt possible. And yes the detractors are correct in their statements that going with a power adder will achieve the results you want for 1/5th the cost, but the feeling of smoking a s/c car with your n/a is priceless...so its up to you..is your love of n/a strong enuff and pockets deep enuff to attempt it? If so give me a holler and I can point you in the right direction.

He used to post on the Corral, but I can't remember his screen name. I'm not sure it was 350, but he was damn close. Maybe mid 330's or so, I can't remember for sure.

So what if he is going to spend more money, maybe he has the cash to do it or doesn't care what it costs? Now his goal is a pretty lofty one to shoot for and will bring up certain driveability and realiability issues. However a solid 300RWHP car can be done for about as much as a fully tuned blower car and will be more reliable.

When I bought my car new and started hitting the track I made the choice to stick NA with my car simply because I knew that racing at the track was what I wanted. To make a car live through 5 years (term of my loan) you have a better chance of making it with NA power rather than going blower, turbo or nitrous. I'm sure some might argue that point stating that a blower car with a good tune can last just as long. I'd like to see one that has 110K miles and over 700 passes on slicks. I don't know of one...at least not a mod motor car.

Not everyone wants to slap on a blower and be done with it. I know if I had I would have either gotten bored with it and sold it or broken it a long time ago. Buliding and driving the car is half the fun of owning it.

Glad to see another n/a addict like myself...sure we spend alot but its our choice and we like it. Anyone can rent a helicopter and fly to the top of the mountain, we rather try climbing I and fall down the mtn once in awile, but when we reach the top, man it feels satisfying..it comes with being an individual

No, it wasn't Randy. It was an older Mustang, a 96 or 97 I believe.

Now it's going to bother me.....

My buddy Steve D @ Houston Performance is making ~350rwhp, and he's not even leaning on the tune up yet. Big bore 5.0 w/ his heads and cams, bullitt intake, longtubes, etc. Check out this months 5.0 magazine, there is an n/a stroker build up in there. Pump gas our engine made 375/385 on our engine dyno, using 11:1 c/r, streetable stage2 heads and cams, and a stock bullitt intake. This would be easily over 400/400 with more head work and camshaft. Even if we added race gas and tossed in some more timing we could've likely gotten close. It can be done, I'd personally use a 324 because you'll get the added cubes for torque AND the bigger bore for top end Hp.
