Just picked up a mildly built 351 for my 68 coupe. I currently have C4. Will this combo be okay for light driving? Thoughts? TIA

Petty vague, but if the C4 is in good shape and the motor is not over 350 or so HP, you should be OK.

a stock C4 in good shape will handle up to 350hp with little problem. with a shift kit, you can make up to 400hp and not have an issue.

Thanks guys for the feedback. That's what I was hoping to hear. I would estimate the engine to be in the 320 hp range, and was considering a shift kit anyway. Muchas gracias!

You can put a lot thru a properly built C4.

Problem is, finding a local person to build one properly.

I know Weatherford is not local, but they build a good C4. Up to 600hp they are not too hard to build.

Ya, no one around here can build one to hold 400hp. LOL

I bought mine from Performance Automatic, been a great transmission so far. I definitely abuse the hell out of it.

Weatherford? Is that in TN? If so, where? I'm in Louisville, KY.

Are you still using a C4? I thought you had a 400.

NO, its still a C4. Never ran a 400. I have a good 300-350 passes on mine so far. 8000+ shifts and still shifts like new. Zero signs of flaring in 2-3 shift.
