I got a set of 351 heads given to me and was wondereing if it would be worth swapping for the stock e7te heads. if so i was going to have them ported and cleaned up. the motor has a performer intake and a e-303 cam but for now has a stock lower end with bolt ons.

The only heads worth doing the swap would be the 69/70 windsow heads. They have some pretty decent flow numbers. After that, the smog era kicked in and all performance was lost.

the reason you want the 69/70 heads is because they are closed chamber so they dont have a huge cc. plus those 2 years were the hieght of muscle car performance.

I agree you need those heads, look at the casting numbers and tell me what they read. They should either be D0OE or C9AE cast into them, otherwise you got yourself some nice new boat anchors.

Correct on the '69-'70 351W heads. My brother runs 12.40's with a pair that he reworked (ported/polished/larger 1.94 Chevy valves.) All other's aren't really worth it.

Yes they are some of the best flowing factory heads for the small blocks. Besides cleveland heads.
