I am just finishing up my project & working out some bugs. I have a 408W with a victor jr. intake in my 66. Due to the increased deck height over the 289, and the victor Jr. intake, the carb is up much higher than original. I had to bend and add some threads to the threadded rod that connects to the carb, but the top of the gas pedal touches the back of the intake, giving me only 1 & 1/2" of pedal travel at the floor. The car runs well & seems very quick, but I'm not even getting to use 1/4 of my throttle. The primaries open just a little. The secondaries are far from opening up. Any suggestions other than just bending the bottom of the lever where the pedal mounts?

Sounds like you should convert over to a cable set up. Maybe something from Lokar will work for you.

Yep, that's what I did for my weber intake. Works great - - but be sure if you buy the gas pedal along with the cable setup to buy the spacer plate for the backside of the pedal.
