I have a 70' coupe and there is a consistent knocking noise that doesnt go away and i was wonder if anybody had some suggestions to what the problem might be and how to fix it?

where is the knock coming from? Bottom end, Top end? does it sound like a valve under your valve covers? you can do the old screw driver test to determine where the noise is coming from.
Get a long screw driver and put it to each valve cover and any other part of the motor you can touch it to and put your ear up to the screwdriver and it will act like a stethoscope. this will help you find the area from which the noise is coming from.
Other then that i would check the easy stuff first. Oil level, adjust valves, check timing and maybe put your timing to about 12-14 degrees. You may be hearing predetonation from your timing being way off.

i had a 1990 5.0 and it would make a knocking noise that i couldnt seem to find and one day i found it. It was the fan hitting the fan shroud. so check that as well cause you never know.:flag:
