Hello fellow stang drivers, this is my first post on stangnet, and I am guessing a lot of people will laugh at my question, but I need an answer. I am looking to get some new valve covers for my 98 4.6 GT, and I cant find a website that sells them... I went to jegs.com and they have a ton of valve covers for 289/351W/302, 429-460, and they also have measurements, e.g, 3 3/4 tall, 4 tall, and 4 1/2 tall. Well to be blunt about this, I have no idea which one will work for my stang, if any. If anyone has any idea which one would fit, or if anyone would like to induldge me in what year stang has which engine model (289,351W, etc) I would really appreciate it. If anyone knows where I can get some good looking valve covers for my stang, let me know. Thanks a bunch.

well your 4.6L is a 281. those are all pushrod motors, yours is OHC so therefore none will work. BBK makes valve covers for a 4.6 and i think those are the only aftermarket ones out there.

ya, theyre very expensive iirc. ive seen some stockers that have been painted and look really good. someone on here posted pics of one where the person painted the cam covers red and painted the "cooling vanes" cant think of a better term silver.

You have to buy valve covers SPECIFICALLY for the 4.6 in order for them to fit.
