I am in search of some used long tube headers for my 351w swap. What years will work? I have a 94 Mustang and have been able to get away with 79-93 Mac long tubes for my 347. Are there 351w headers from pre 79 mustangs or trucks or anything that could work? I reason I ask is because I believe I have seen some people use headers from older vehicles and have worked.

I investigated this myself, and I ended up going with Kooks custom headers. After watching a few friends go through the horrors of this swap. I just bought something that I knew would work

Like I said in the other thread .... Hooker Super Comp 351 swap headers are what my friend went with.

The only problem I had when I went to the Mac 79-93 headers was that I needed to grind a little on the K-member. After that I had no issues. The cost of 351w swap headers are a bit high and I am on a budget. That is why I wondered what all would work. I am not even sure if a set of 79-93 headers would work in this situation being that its a 351w.

i don't think they will work. Check out the FRPP catalog. the 95cobra R had a 351. i think they aren't that expensive to get.

The 87-93 MAC 351 long tubes will fit with some clearancing of the k member on the passenger side and lots of fighting to get them in place. I went with Kooks headers and couldn't be happier.

I've got accufab custom headers...paid $500 trying to sell them now. Used for a couple months....u'd get a great deal for a GREAT header.

Email me at nmcgrawj@umich.edu if interested. They fir 87-95 mustangs with a 351w. Yup....fox's and 94-95's
