Ok it seems that the 418 Stroker Kits use the same 6.2" Rod that my 383 uses but just use a 4.1 Crank rather than the 3.75 Crank i use now. Just wondering if its possible to for me to go to a larger displacement by only changing a Crank???

Would there be any drawbacks??? Like excessive wear from the more radical crank??? Will i loose the fast revs that i get now?

i would think the pistons would have to be different as well so that the additional stroke would not push the tops of the pistons up too far in the cylinder (and into the valves) ...

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Yeah, you would have to change the pistons too, and I don't think you would gain that much with that much difference in stroke. Where is your peak power now?

A 408 uses a 6.2" rod also with a 4" stroke.

with your low compression, you might consider stapping on a blower or turbo for that extra oomph we are all looking for
