Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 3rd brakelight LED replacement for my 2000 Mustang GT.

I put it on the other day, seemed like it should be pretty straight forward, unplug the old one..remove the bulbs, and take the wiring strand out of the old 3rd brake light and run it in the new 3rd brake light.

With the new one, instead of plugging in the bulbs in the little sockets on the wiring strand, you plug in the male connectors that are connected to the circuit board that has the LEDs, then plug and install everthing back on the car.

However, when I press my brakes, my third brakelight does not cut on.

I have reseated and checked all of the obvious things and can't seem to get them to work.

Is it possible that I am missing something here.

Does anyone have any other suggestions.

Thanks alot in advance for your help.

Regards,

Mike

If your sure everything is hooked up right, its possible you have a bum LED board.

I would take the LED assembly out and hook it up to another 12V power supply or straight to the battery, ciggarette lighter, ect(with a inline fuse just incase)and see if it comes on. If it doesn't light up its probably bad.

Please ask me how much my supercharger cost

you've probably already checked it but make sure you didn't blow a fuse

Thanks for the reply nightstick..quick question just to be sure since its not my area of expertise...if I wanted to check the LED board out to see if thats the problem and was to hook it up to another power supply (cigarette lighter or battery, how would i do that. Would I just take a wire that has an inline fuse (assuming about 15amps) and touch it to the battery on one end and the plug adapter on the other end to see if it lights up? Just want to be sure i'm checking it right so I know whether the board is good or not.

Thanks again...Mike

Does Anyone know the proper way to test the LED Board...which connectors to touch..there are four of them, is it a combination of the pins etc..

Any help is greatly appreciated.
